The qualification gained via the Aromatherapy Diploma course is

VTCT – I.I.H.H.T Level 3 Aromatherapy Diploma.

Course Dates:

Weekdays 9.30am - 3.00pm

9 - 12 Mar 2009, 16 - 19 Mar 2009 or 

11 - 14 May 2009, 18 - 21 May 2009

Plus an assessment day

Weekends:

23 - 24 May 2009, 30 - 31 May 2009, 6 -7 Jun 2009, and13 -14 Jun 2009

Evenings:

9 - 10 Feb 2009, 16 -19 Feb 2009, 23 - 26 Feb 2009, 2 - 5 Mar 2009

This qualification allows you to gain insurance which enables you to practice and work as an Aromatherapist in salons, complementary health clinics, or be self employed working mobile or from home.

The course equips you with the knowledge and expertise to carry out an Aromatherapy treatment on the general public.

Course Content:

• Health, Safety and Security in the workplace. 
• Anatomy and Physiology. 
• The Benefits of Aromatherapy. 
• Study of Essential Oils. 
• Use of Oils. 
• Contra-indications relating to Aromatherapy. 
• Contra-actions relating to Aromatherapy.  Preparing the work area. 
• Client Consultation, Interpersonal Skills and Body Language. 
• Record Keeping. 
• Patient Care. 
• Aromatherapy massage. 
• Client after-care advice.

Aromatherapy will be conducted upon other members of the course. You will each have an opportunity to carry out a Aromatherapy treatment and receive the benefits of Aromatherapy.

Entry Requirements:

No previous experience is required.  Though attendance of an Introduction to Massage Workshop is required.

VTCT Registration

A VTCT registration, assessment and verification fee of £66 is required.  This fee will be reduced if the candidate is already registered with VTCT.

Assessment Process

The candidate is required to produce a portfolio of evidence which includes;

• Tests. 
• Written coursework via workbooks.
• Practical Aromatherapy treatment observations. 
• A number of Aromatherapy treatment case studies which are performed at home and must cover a range of different client types.

Once the portfolio is complete, the candidate will perform a final observed treatment, and present their portfolio for assessment.
