Massage online courses
When studying a massage home study course, one of the most important aspects of the course is how to set up the treatment room to ensure your client has a nice relaxing treatment.
Below are some simple steps that you can take to ensure your client feels comfortable and pampered.
Ensure the treatment room is softly lit, warm with relaxing music playing in the background.
The treatment bed should be clean, have a towelling cover which covered by clean bed roll.
Two clean bath sheets should be available for the client.
Use two pillows or a pillow and a bolster. Pillow cases should be clean and covered by clean bed roll. One pillow is for under the head when the client is lying on their back. The other or the bolster is for under the knees when the client is on their back and for under the ankles when the client is lying on their front.
Any window should have blinds so that no one can see in.
If there is more than one bed in the room, then bed should have curtains or blinds available to allow the client to have privacy then undressing and dressing.
A rolling trolley should be available to the therapist so that they can put the massage medium on it and move it around the bed as they work
Water and clean cups should be available for the client at the end of the treatment.
The treatment area should be comfortable and private as this helps to make the client relax, feel safe and shows that you are a professional therapist.
The treatment room set differs slightly, depending on the treatment you are performing. For instance extra equipment will be required if your client has requested a Hot Stone Massage.
