Course Profile:

The Introduction to Massage course provides you with a good all round insight into the art of massage. The course equips you with the knowledge and expertise to carry out a Massage treatment on family and friends. The course is a great platform from which to progress onto the Diploma in Swedish Massage, Diploma in Body Massage or Diploma in Indian Head Massage as many of the techniques used you will have experienced and practised before commencing a diploma course. Or maybe you simply want to be able to use your massage skills upon friends and family. Either way this is the course for you!

Course Content:

• The history of massage through the ages
• Health and Safety
• Contra-indications relating to massage
• Contra-actions relating to massage
• Preparing a massage table
• Client Consultation
• Practical Massage including effleurage, pettrisage and tapotment
• Client after-care advice

Practical massage will be conducted upon other members of the course. You will each have an opportunity to carry out a massage and receive the benefits of massage.
